When I first started The Honest Project, I used to post a new smoothie recipe every Friday morning. My smoothie obsession was at an all time high. On the plus side, this blog schedule gave me an excuse to experiment with lots of different fruit and vegetable combos and I got to drink all the delicious smoothies. On the minus side, there are only so many ways you can mix and match spinach and banana, if you know what I mean. Also, there is no getting away from the fact that green smoothies are always my smoothie of choice and the ones I tend to stick to on an everyday basis. So Smoothie Fridays on the blog were shelved and I stuck to my green smoothies with the occasion fruity breakout :)
However, sometimes a craving for a delicious sweet fruit smoothie strikes; usually when the sun shines. With the beautiful weather we've had in Ireland over the past few weeks (go away clouds), I've been craving something a little fruitier in the morning. Some beautiful ripe mango came my way last weekend and I always have a stash of pomegranates lying around the house; pomegranate seeds sprinkled over salads is always a good idea. So when my sugar craving hit, I blended up this Pomegranate and Mango Smoothie, poured it over ice cubes and took myself out to the garden to enjoy it in the sunshine.
Flesh of 1 ripe mango
Seeds of 1/2 a pomegranate
2 cups almond milk
Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour over ice cubes and enjoy x
