Rain, cold, dark evenings... Winter has officially arrived and with it comes the search for comfort and warmth. Adopting a glass half full attitude is half the battle to getting through these Winter days and with that positivity in mind, I'm adding some delicious warming spices to my morning smoothie. Spices like ginger, cinnamon and cloves aren't just for your CHristmas cake; they work really well in smoothies and porridge too. Today's blog post is a recipe for a delicious spiced apple smoothie; while served at room temperature, the spices warm it up making it ideal for this time of year. If you like to add green to your smoothie, add a large handful of spinach leaves for some raw green goodness; don't worry, the flavour of the warming spices will still shine through.
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
