Good morning and as it's Friday, it's 'Smoothie and Juices' day. Today's smoothie most definitely falls into the category of a 'treat' smoothie as it contains no vegetables and would be quite high in natural sugars. Having said that, it's hard to stick to green smoothies everyday and for when you want a break from the green this is a very tasty option.
Of course there is alot of goodness in this smoothies. Blueberries are packed full of anti-oxidants and chia seeds are a great source of healthy fatty acids and are high in fibre. This smoothie is free from dairy, gluten and refined sugars (but don't forget the natural sugars :)).
2 ripe peaches
1/2 cup of blueberries
2 pitted dates
1 1/2 cups of almond milk
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately or store in a glass airtight jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
